Getting married

It's been a very long time since I updated my blog, having lots of
stuff to deal with, new job post, HKPUG functions and events, friend's
gatherings and etc.
The most busiest thing I'm focusing on is my fiancé and our wedding,
after living for 29 years I finally found my life long partner who I
will be with for the rest of my life. I always wanted to have my own
family, someone who will live with me, support me, comfort me and love
me…
It was all in a sudden if you consider how we started, from asking for
her hand to proposing, she always knew what was going to happen next.
I wanted to give her a surprise but it's hard cause we stick together
whenever we had the chance, but I'm really happy to have her at my
side all the time.

PS. I hope I could surprise her this weekend ;p

Cirque Du Soleil's Zaia

no picture taking while watching the show, it was really my lifetime experience. it's my first time ever to see a circus show & i paid for a premium of 788 to have a seat at center area of row E, that's about the sixth row from the stage, nice view!

u might guess why i paid 788 instead of 588, that's b coz 588 are side areas of the theater. the first thing i asked with the ticket seller was 'what can i get if i go for 788?' & he answered me i could seat on row E, after i looked at the seating plan, i didn't even hesitate to ask for 588's seating arrangement & just paid for the 788 seat.

i'm just so happy with the experience i had from Zaia, although some of u might think it's not that good but forgive me coz it's my first time ever to see a circus show & i really dunno which is good or better but i enjoyed the night so much.

i just wished i had someone to share with me after that moment...

these are the beds i slept while i stayed at Venetian. they're really big & spacious, good for couples too.

this time i got a chance to visit their office in HK because i need to conduct a review for HKPUG. although it's a small space for me to take pics & play with their gadgets but i had a wonderful time there.

Antique Tea room

this was my first visit, i knew this shop because of a f & b show at tv. they are famous for their macarons, it's a dessert that looks like a hamburger (i really like burgers).

after using my old keyboard for quite a while, i've finally bought a new one. it's a moshi branded keyboard, the keys are like those notebooks out there. i realise it was for a mac but it supports windows too & it's really stylish.

this was one of the sight i went to in Guilin, they had a waterfall that was available for brave ones to climb it. i wasn't the brave one there cause i didn't brought anything to change after getting wet.
some of my local tour mates were brave enough to climb the waterfalls, i myself took the stairs to the top.

last week i went to Guilin with my parents. we drove there from Guangzhou, it's about 600km far. me and my dad drove like a rally race, we took turns driving.
it was my first time to be there, the landscape is beautiful, those mountains and hills just match the river alongside.
i was also surprised that the people there are nice, it's different from GZ.

i had an after dinner walk at KT pier last night, i was suprised at how clear was the weather.
i was able to see the Victoria harbour clearly at night, at first i thought of getting back my D700 for a night shot but soon i realize i don't have a tripod. i wanted desperately to share what i was seeing at that very moment, luckily i got my iphone & took 2 shots with OS 3.0.

HTC Touch Pro 2

i've been to the press event this afternoon, it's my second time there at IFC mall 'G-Bar'. the place is really nice, i'd like to be there for happy hour if i got the chance.

back to the Pro 2, the screen is gorgeous. at first i thought it was a dummy unit but the staff told me it's the real thing. the build is really solid, especially the keyboard, it used the chocolate design that most notebooks are using, some what like the macbook pro.

it's been a while since my last blog entry, i should update u all with what's happening to me recently.
i've ditch my WM phone for an android, after that i found out that capacitive touch screens are superb, so i got an iphone. i didn't intentionally made this post because of the upcoming WWDC from Apple, i was brought back here because a friend is now going to watch my blog.

i do hope that this would be a starting place to know me from the net.

haha~ i've finally got my new toy, D700 Nikon's 2nd full frame DLSR.
i really didn't plan on getting it this early but the lack of functions from D60 told me that i should upgrade, but the problem is... besides from getting a D3 all of those DX format cams seems to be an extra cost for my road to full frame + functions...

i was a 35mm film guy when i was playing with my camera... i really didn't expect to have such a problem with the DX format... but i did, i lost my sense of distance... b-coz of the crop factor... but now i'm in FX (full frame = 35mm), my sense is back, wow~

The funny thing today is that i've been thought to be a father at church, those little kids are so adorable.

it's been a while since i've donated blood. i went for it today, i always thought that helping others is a good thing, no matter if it's physically or back support.
i was surprised to hear a news when i was in the middle of my transfusion. the nurse told me that i've donated 20 times! i was excited when i heard that, i cheered deeply inside me.

i really hope that i could make a difference even though i'm just nobody in this world.

everybody in this world needs support, no one can just live their life alone. what if u r really left alone in this world, will u freak out? if u ask me, i'm definitely going to freak out. but i won't attemp suicide coz that would be the most stupid thing to do.
it's nice to have friends that could support u, especially when u r depress. a little bit of support always cheers someone up. i always keep in mind to cheer others, but when depress comes to me, sometimes i just don't get the tiny push i'm asking for.

Giving up

Irresistible

sometimes you'll find something or someone irresistible, but why? is it because you like it so much or it attracts you so much?
i myself haven't felt it before, not until i met someone. she has something deep inside that attracts me so much, too much i can't bare it anymore. it might sound too ridiculous to you, but that's what i found when i knew her more. honestly she's beautiful, but that doesn't attract me, coz i'm not the kind that gets attracted by someone's look.
my friends always tells me that i'm not harsh when giving comments, maybe it's b-coz i like to think the positive way. i like to look at the positive of things before the negative ones, but this method is for people only. i do the opposite way for things, coz if they're not good enough, there's always another item to replace it.

some people put perfumes on themselves to attract others, that's one way to attract someone. but if u think back, is it the person who attracts you or the perfume?
some fragrance might trigger our brain to mislead us that they attract us, but it's just the scent of the perfume that attract us.

the moral of this message is... don't easily get attracted by those exterior things, dig inside those are the treasures you should look for...

My dad is going to the hospital today for the final preparation of his operation. I hope everything will be fine, as the doctor said the risk is quite high.
It makes me worried when i heard the probability is that high. Let's just hope he'll be alright & walk out from the hospital as a healthy big boy.

Eee PC

i just got my Eee PC this morning, i didn't had the time to play with it. but the first impression was small & light. as promised by asus, the whole packing is awesome with a price point of 2998 HKD, it's a miracle in the notebook industry or maybe even a big impact at flagships PDA.
i really liked the whole thing, small & simple, but not dumb. some PDAs are more expensive than 3k, but they might not give you the PC experience you're looking for.
i'll try to upload some pictures of the machine later on, as i'm still enjoying the freedom of being wireless. as a matter of fact, i'll writing this at my EeePC.

Darkness

After the long darkness night, finally it's nearing sunrise. It's a good thing that people forgets the things in their mind. If our brain was like a memory card, we'll be remembering every events in our lives.
Another special thing inside us is hope, we always have hope & faith for the future. Some might not have it, but most of us do.

what do you think of the future? someone might think of high tech world or maybe even fantasies.
no matter what you think, there are always 2 kind of thoughts flying around. the first one like i said would think of a bright future, like everyone lives in harmony & peaceful.
there's also the opposite side of this, that's the dark side of it. they think of war, chaos, the end of the world, invasion from others...

why did i bring this up? i just wanted to share 1 particular thing here, the "future". these all kinds of predictions are mainly based on 2 types of people, positive & negative thinking. because the funny part is that no one knows what will happen in the future. if i could predict it, let's say just for a few minutes, i would be a multi-millionaire. why? because i can win big in the casino, i don't even need to worry of being poor or i might save other's lives from accidents.

the motto of this, "no one knows".

Falling & Dropping

Falling in the ground is a physical damage, it hurts, might leave a permanent or temporary scar or damage. But because of our science, those physical damage will eventually be fixed or remove.

Dropping something or someone in your life will hurt too, but in a different way, that would be something you've lost or leave for the rest of your life. Even though you could pick up what you left on, you'll just leave a scar inside your heart.
That scar will be too hard to heal or remove, unless you tend to forget it, but deep inside... it's still there.

although i bought my wii for a while, but i just figured out that wii has it's own e-mail system.
that's not b-coz of my laziness, coz my wii broke down with a file system error.

i understand the use of e-mail system between wii(s), but i just don't get it when it comes to the outside world. wii has it's own e-mail address, so i was wondering why would someone else send an e-mail to your wii instead of your personal mail address?

i only figured out 1 possible use of the mail, a message board for your home where the wii is sitting.

it was my first time to visit Cova, well not exactly first time but it was my first dine in experience.
the cake is very good, i didn't had coffee but i had an iced chocolate. the chocolate was so yummy, very tasty.
i really want to visit them again for another tea next time, coz the price is not that expensive at all. the cheapest tea set cost 78 + 10% charge, the cost is just like having a cake & tea at starbucks.

Acne vs me

Although it might be too late for me to give a comment for the iphone, but apple really know what they are doing with the phone.
I haven't got the chanceto try the ipod & phone functions, but the pim & internet was great, especially the internet. It really makes you feel the internet in your pocket, at first i was worried with the one hand control thing, but if u consider using the phone only, then it's still one handed control.

If someone just could get all those locks off, i might get one too. It's multi-lingual, except for the input. Hey! That's enough for me.

Right or Wrong

What is right and wrong? How do u define it?
No one exactly knows who's right & wrong, especially when it's about a relationship. Most people will think that their own story is the right version & the opposite side is wrong.
To be fair, no one is exactly right and wrong, as both of you are right at the same time wrong. Because when involving more than one party, it's really difficult to point out who's right or wrong.
Although you might be right or wrong, but if you are wrong, don't blame everything to yourself.

Remember one thing, you are wrong because the other person think you're wrong and they're right.
The reason why we study or learn history is because we want to learn from the past, to find a better way of solving the same event that happened in the past. History doesn't tell you to avoid doing the things in the past & they're telling you to learn from the past.

Flirt or Tease?

I wasn't so sure if i'm really having a date, don't even mention getting a relationship.
But these days was lots of fun for us, we had the opportunity to have fun together.
It's not always just for fun, there are also some chats that would open up our minds to new perspective.
I recently try asking my friends about being tease or flirt, whatever u think of it, the main point is will u accept it gladly or u'll react as if that person is trying something spooky.

I really didn't figured anything out of it, but as far as i can say it doesn't has anything to do regarding the location (especially china). But my little research has an interesting result, the more mature u r the easier for u to accept it.

For my own opinion, if someone tease or flirt me about something, i'll reply 'thank you' for an easy & short answer. U won't see me scolding u back of it, that's kinda rude to me, especially if i really mean it. It would be like being rejected of some sort.

As a little advice for my readers (if there are any), the next time someone tease or flirt u, feel good & think positive of it, although they might or not meant it.
The same way goes back to yourself, what would u feel if u greet someone but the reply was like saying u're making fun of him or her?

Chinese New Year~!

First of all, happy new year to all of u.
How many of u know the Chinese Zodiac for this year? Is it PIG? Wel l, the answer is yes but in english translation they called it BOAR.

How much do u know about boars compared to pigs? Boars are fiercer than pigs, especially when u see boars with a huge pair of tusk. In my knowledge, i've never heard of any human grown boars, i only knew that they were wild animals. In a recent documentary, i learnt that boar's sense of smelling is much greater than a dog, they could smell peanuts underground from a hundred meter or more, that's pretty far away.
Imagine if someone in the streets or say like the customs at the airport are walking a boar rather than a dog, that would be pretty funny to see and at the same time very dangerous too. If those tusks hit u, i think u'll be hurt pretty bad.

Finally, remember to grab & collect more red pockets & save them for your future use, dunt spent it right away.

Next day is going to be valentine's day, but before that, i'm really happy hanging out with my friends.
We just got a friend who came far away from malaysia to pay us a visit. He's absolutely a super nice guy, i can't wait to pay him a visit at malaysia. Speaking about travel, i manage to meet some friends who have tried home stay on other country. I think that's the best way to know your place, especially when u want to get deep through the bottom of their culture or habitats.

It's been quite a while since i've been outing on dates like this, if i wasn't wrong, i was having dinner with my friends last year. How long have i been alone since my last relationship...
I really wanna get a new relationship for this year, even if there aren't any, i still hope i could hang out with someone no matter what the occation is...

Just a piece of info for my readers, there will be a camera expo at hk from now until sept, if i remember that right. I'm planning to pay the museum a visit, if u're going, remember to have a look at the leica camera. They have the first 35mm film camera at the expo.

Our moments

It was a big day for us, our club celebrated the first chinese new year gathering. It's really nice to see our team getting along so well, although we might have some arguments sometimes, but at the end we're still a family.

It's february already, reminds me of one thing or two, valentine's day & chinese new year. Both are great days, but valentine's day is not that good if you're alone. On the other hand, chinese new year is great for most of the non-married persons. As they can get red pockets from the ones that are married.

I recently feel like a grown-up or should i say, i want to look good or better. I'm starting to shop for clothes & accessories. I recently got a cufflink for myself, i was so ignorant that i didn't even know how to use it at the first place. I bought it because it was very pretty & it is pretty. I started to wear it today & tracking down more french sleeves shirt for it as well.

I still need one more accessories for my clothing, a tie-clip. I really can't find any clip that looks good or should i just say young. I find myself getting more & more stuff as i grow up, don't know why but i enjoy it. I better look for a tie clip, it just feel like a missing link on my neck tie.

When was the last time i wrote a blog? I've been pretty busy these days, need to take care of my job, handling my duties at my club... Etc.
The worst thing is that whenever i wanna have some rest, i just can't have it peacefully, why is my life like this.
Something always goes wrong when everything is almost settled. I really hate it this way, when can i have a smooth & peaceful day?

I can almost feel myself being teared appart, i just hope i can stand against it or i might just fall down.

Cycling

I went to shatin for bicycle today, that should be my first excercise.
I was having trouble with my leg, maybe its b-coz of not having a regular excercise.
It's time to get back to my work out, after this winter break.

Although it was so called a winter break for the work out, but i'm feeling very tired all the time.
Think i'm having a high pressure or stress, need tofind some way to get rid of it.

it's been a busy week for me, although my job was a bit relax or should i say too relax.

X'mas party

what a busy party week, i had another small family party last night.
we had hot pot, and i can tell u we're really filled-up, the best part is that we could have a chat around what's happening over us.

the funniest part of the show was the exchange gift, b-coz the rule was set to be a 30 dollars gift.
i bought my gift at the 10 dollar shop, try to make a guess on what i bought, u'll laugh loud~ (spoon, fork & knife)

Merry Christmas~! LETZ PARTY~!

i had a wonderful time in the party, it was a long time since i had attend this kind of party.
i met a lot of new friends, we enjoyed the meal that we had, it was a chinese cuisine.

like i said, it was a party, so we had exchange gifts from each others... to be honest it was like lucky draw rather than exchange~

but the best part was we had a drink at a pub, i never thought that there would be something like this at mong-kok, the place was big and had an open area.
although we're in the middle of a cement forest, but we were able to see the night sky.

I was a bit disappointed when i knew where am i supposed to sit, but the ticket was still a lot cheaper than before.
I remember some what around 10 years ago, i went to see a concert, the price was 1:2 compare to Jan's show.

There was something on the show that really did make me think twice, that was something about writing a diary or telling the one you trust a secret.
Jan said, in old days people talk to their trusted friends regarding secrets & feelings or writing it down on their own private notebook.
But the present day was nothing like the old day, people write on their blog instead of notebooks & feelings & secrets are no longer secrets, because the story was published to the public.

Driving

I had my license for along time, i've drove with my friends car, but usually that would be just once.
since i was back at china & finally got the license, i can drive my dad's car at china. let me tell u this~ china is a place where a few people knows how to drive in a good manner or sense...
i saw lots of drivers driving like kamikaze (suicide team in WW2), or acrobats... not the one in circus, coz they know what they're doing...

i'm finding myself getting addicted to driving... oh boy~! this is going to be very expensive~!

Acne treatment

I've been undergoing the treatment for more than 2 months, finally it's getting better. I hope to see my face recovering soon, although there are still some remaining but i can feel that it's healing.
To be honest, i've never had that much medicines in months.

It's been a tough week for me, i've taking medicines to cure my pimples & acne. The drugs r really making me sick although my face is getting better. Hope i can survive this, i'll be very happy to see my face without pimples.

Golden week

Just passed the golden week here in china, i had a wonderful trip to china.
When i was young, i always though that china is way behind modern cities, but at present times, china is really catching up or even moving ahead of some modern cities.
I was really surprise how fast was the modernization, i was having a trip with my parents. We went to a pub, a very nice one, we met the very nice owner, had a chat, but the best part is that the pub's interior & extrior design is superb. It's a topless hall with a retractable top if it rains.
But that's not all the best part, i wasn't really surprised by the design of the place, as china has lots of space to fill-in. What really surprised me was the foods & drinks it offered, to my own opinion everything tasted like a 4 star class hotel, but at the price of an average restaurant in hk.
That's what i call surprised~!

I had a good start for this weekend, but it was a rough ride...
first, we had bbq at the country side... while we're enjoying our fire place and cooking our foods... suddenly the weather change & it rained, luckily the bbq site had a tent (lucky)~!

another problem arised, my friend & I have a bit of argument, it ended up not in a happy manner... but I believe we're still friends...

yesterday was very surprising, a friend called me & asked me to be an alarm... I was really surprised by that request...

Is it small or what? I was so surprise to see my friend in the supermarket today, I never thought that before.
I missed my friend so much, we had a short chat & the feeling was too good to describe.
I'd hope we could chat more & more, after all, we did have much time together.

We had a lots of fun outing, it's been too quiet for me a long time, recently I bought a box of LEGO for me. There was lots of memories in my mind & especially deep inside my heart.

It was quite a while since I last wrote my blog. I was pretty busy at work & fun. It was really happy have lots of activities with friends.

There are lots of expo at HK, we had the audio, food & computer expo. There were lots of people at the expo, u can't even walk freely, it's like being pushed by others for the whole day.

I'm not hoping to be home alone, as it is super boring, but on the other side... is it really that good to always have a date with someone? Coz I felt I spent lots of money for myself & the cost of date.

It was a superb weekend for me, as I went to the beach with my friends.
Although the beach was crowded, but we had a great time playing with triple S (sunshine, sands & sea).
I've just learnt that day was my first time going to the beach this year.

The next day we went to the HiFi expo, wow~ what a great experience, the speakers & players coz more than a car.
We had a chance to hear some sounds & music from a hundred-thousand speaker.
Oh~ boy~ what can I do with my speakers...

These days u have a lot of phones to choose from.
I've been using Treo 650 for more than 1½ year.
Wireless technology had improved a lot, from just voice calls to data transfer. I was a bit tempted when our friend showed us the Nokia E70, the phone design concept was great & it had almost all types of wireless tech, GSM, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth & the old fashion infra red.

I'll try to wait for a little longer & see which one I'll get, it's just to many to choose from.

After this whole long week, suddenly I felt what my friends used to say, "DRY".
I really dunno what happened, maybe it's b-coz of watching too drama shows. Most drama always has something to do with romance.
It's so hard to find anyone who could accompany me to go where I want, it's really lucky to have someone besides u all the time. Having someone to play with u, take care of u, understands u & to love u, is like hitting the jackpot in your life.

When can I hit the jackpot? I dun even know where to find the ticket boot.
Maybe I'll go get some refreshment, after all I'm feeling thirsty (dry).

wow~ what a fantastic weekend, had a day off on friday, went to a very unfamiliar place for me.
i can't believe i missed that on my map, i had a superb toast in a HK style fastfood shop.

for today, i got a new amp, but i didn't plan to replace or upgrade my old one.
it broke down... that's why i need to get a new one... (bad luck... less than 2.5 years)
the new one sounds great... didn't know the effects of getting a better one would make u hear more details of the same tracks... (now i know why hifi has a huge price range)

mm... about me...
haven't wear a ring for more than 4 years... just got one, my feelings was quite heavy when i put it on...
a sudden sorrow & happiness came across in my feelings...
i'll treasure it, thx for the memories~

just got pass of the black week, finally a little brighter inside me.
but the weather is not co-operative, we're having thunder storms & strong winds.

hope this coming week will be a sunny day, coz it's a lot better to have a nice weather here in HK.

In my entire life, when i was aware of what is happening besides me, i lost some precious people i knew.
it's really hard for everyone of us to lost someone or something important to ourselves.

Although we have lost someone or something, but the main point is that we can learn how to treasure what we have at present.

our boss is going back to HQ... we had a very good day to celebrate his birthday & farewell... (what a party...)
he's a super nice guy, he's the only one i really first heard of saying that he believe in "the staff is the firm's treasure"

i never thought of hearing this kind of comment from a boss, coz i believe that most of the boss doesn't know or even doesn't care about it.
it's really touching when he said that... i'm sure i'll miss him a lot...

i went to china and macau for my 3 days vacation. it was a very nice vacation with my parents. what i like most is the restaurant that we have lunch at macau, the bar place was very nice and sparkling. the waiters are mostly from philippines, i had a great time chatting with them (in tagalog).
